Learn To Show Dogs Like A Professional – Achieve the results of a professional handler in the show ring based on the George Alston Method (The Winning Edge). The seminar will be limited to 40 participants with dogs, but will allow observers without dogs to be part of the whole presentation.
- How to Move Your Dog Correctly
- Proper Stacking
- Ring Procedures
- Breed Specific Presentation
- Mock Dog Show
Norma Smith shares her 38 years experience with dogs, 250 Best in Shows, and history as a breeder, owner-handler and professional handler with the seminar attendees.
The class will cover aspects of showing to improve skills of both beginners and experts. Demonstrations and discussion will include the best way to stack your dog, the best pace to move your dog, and what to do when your dog posts. Ring procedures will be discussed. She will be working one-on-one with you and your dog. Any question you can think of will be addressed. Beginners will work as a group, then watch the Advanced work as a group, alternating throughout the day. Continuation with more one-on-one help, questions and answers. In the afternoon, there will be a mock dog show, but it won’t be your dog that is being judged – think of it as the best junior handling class for adults!
Feb 1, 2014. After that date, non-members with Toy dogs will be allowed to fill up the remaining spots. Participants without a dog will be able to observe and ask questions while the show is occurring. Awards will be given for the best in seminar, most improved, most professionally dressed, etc. Bring your show clothes and prepare to compete with your new skills!
